Judy Weiss is a Canadian fibre artist working in textiles and mixed media. She combines modern tools such as digital images, paints, dyes and colouring media with traditional hand techniques such as wet- and needle-felting, quilting and stitching to produce fine art images and rich textural surfaces. Her works include evocative landscapes , narrative wall art and expressive surface designs on fabric. She also produces felted landscapes, small sculptures, and whimsical, wearable art.
Currently, her work focuses on the Canadian prairie: its wide open spaces, people and history. Her art has been exhibited internationally, and has won awards for innovation, quality and expression. She has been a featured speaker to quilt guilds and teaches introductory classes in art and design for fibre artists.
